Influencer research ≠ Influencer Selection

Influencer research is the process of exploring the influencer landscape before a campaign starts. It helps us understand what types of influencers, content styles, platforms, and audience behaviours would work best for the brand. Not every influencer we research or reach out to will end up being part of the campaign — some may be too expensive, not aligned, or simply not interested. This stage guides overall strategy and outreach direction.

Influencer reasearch happens before the campaigns whilst Influencer Selection happens during the campaign.

Why is this?

The reason is speed. If we try to individually select influencers from scratch once a campaign has begun, it slows everything down. By doing research ahead of time, we already know the types of influencers that are likely to work — so when it’s time to launch, we can move quickly and make confident, strategic choices.
